The conference is being conducted, bringing together the experts in the field to present and discuss latest clinical, scientific and technological breakthroughs in Laryngology and new paradigms in laryngeal dysfunction care

Institute of Head and Neck Sciences, VPS Lakeshore has organized LARYNX 2022, a three-day international conference on laryngology in association with Kocher’s Klub and Association of Otolaryngologists of India, Kochi from July 15 to July 17, 2022 in Kochi. The conference is being conducted, bringing together the experts in the field to present and discuss latest clinical, scientific and technological breakthroughs in Laryngology and new paradigms in laryngeal dysfunction care.

The International Conference was inaugurated on July 16, 2022 by Dr Carsten E Palme, a renowned Head and Neck Cancer Surgeon practicing at Chris O’ Brien Lifehouse, Australia in the presence of Dr. Prathamesh Pai, another veteran in the field of Head and Neck Cancer Surgery, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. S K Abdulla, CEO, VPS Lakeshore Hospital presided over the event.Eminent Laryngologist & Surgeon Dr Jayakumar R Menon, Dr Chithrathara K, HOD Surgical and Gynaec Oncology, VPS Lakeshore, Dr H Ramesh, Director of Medical Services, VPS Lakeshore, Dr Mohan A Mathew, HOD Anaesthesia and Critical Care VPS Lakeshore, Dr Shawn T Joseph, Director of Institute of Head and Neck Sciences, VPS Lakeshore, and Dr Anjana Saseendran, Organising Committee Secretary spoke on the occasion. As part of the rehabilitation of cancer survivors, paintings by Mr Sivan G Karunagappally, a survivor of head and neck cancer, were exhibited at the conference.

Dr Chithrathara honoured him on the occasion. The Voice Centre facilitated at VPS Lakeshore was inaugurated by the renowned Laryngologist Dr. Jayakumar R. Menon, Trivandrum. “In the wake of the increasing voice disorders among patients which may be an early indication of laryngeal cancer, a regular VOICE CENTRE has been set up here and it is possible to cure early laryngeal cancers in a single sitting using Laser surgery”, said Dr Shawn T Joseph, Director of Institute of Head and Neck Sciences, VPS Lakeshore Hospital. As part of the International Conference held on July 15 and 16, workshops, panel discussions and orations on Laser surgery of the Larynx, Laryngeal reinnervation surgery, Dysphagia, Pediatric Dysphagia etc were conducted.Pioneer Laryngologists and Head and Neck Surgeons from India and abroad will actively take part in the International Conference.
